About the Author

M.J. McLaw writes character-driven military science fiction and space opera focused on the people at the center of conflict, and how extraordinary circumstances shape who they become.

He grew up in Oklahoma before enlisting in the military, a decision that took him around the world and deeply influenced his perspective on service, duty, and responsibility. After completing his enlistment, McLaw spent the remainder of his career in government service—experiences that inform the grounded, lived-in tone of his writing.

A lifelong reader of science fiction, McLaw spent years developing story ideas before writing his first novel, encouraged by his wife to finally put them on the page. He lives with his wife and continues to build stories set within The Lumina Protocol universe.
